Rob McNeely is one of the more knowledgeable entertainment lawyers in the southeast United States. He was the main attorney for Creed through more than 20 million albums sold and performances before more than one million fans worldwide. He has also performed legal services for other bands, including Sevendust and various smaller acts. Although born in the rock world, Mr. McNeely has signed artists across multiple genres, including county, hip-hop, and rap.
You don't have to call him "Professor," but you could. Every spring, Mr. McNeely serves as an Adjunct Professor of Entertainment Law at The Florida State University College of Law. Approximately 70 law students enroll to take his popular course which covers all aspects of entertainment law, including copyright, trademark, music law, film, books, internet, television, and theater.
Specializing in music, Mr. McNeely has negotiated and closed recording and music publishing agreements, producer agreements, video agreements, intra-band shareholder agreements, management agreements, and settlement deals. He has signed artists to deals from L.A. to New York to Nashville to Orlando, and has represented numerous production companies and record labels.
Trained in law as a litigator, Mr. McNeely has successfully litigated various entertainment-, copyright-, and trademark-related issues in state and federal courts from Florida to Illinois to Pennsylvania to Nevada.
